Luna Organics was founded by a mother of two girls with the aim of providing high quality, organic play items for children. Luna has developed a line of all natural kids' play makeup made entirely with natural, non-toxic, hypoallergenic materials. We wanted our daughters and their friends to have good choices in play makeup and noticed very few options so we decided to develop a line. Our products can be used for young children for dress up to tweens who are growing up!
All of our products contain the same ingredients as adult mineral makeup but at a much lower cost to the consumer. Our products are all high in quality and quantity - users will get many applications from each item. All ingredients are FDA-approved for the various purposes and all suppliers comply with standards set by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (non-toxic, no animal testing, etc). We are a proud signer of the Compact for Safe Cosmetics. Our products are hand-crafted in Maryland.
The People Involved
Allison Reedy founded Luna Organics in 2009 while she was a stay-at-home mom. Her previous career was in internet commerce so managing her own online retail business comes naturally! With her two daughters as inspiration and motivation, Allison has developed and expanded Luna's product line and is increasing distribution channels across the US and internationally. Starting a business has been a great learning opportunity, and she has received wonderful support and advice from many sources, especially other women juggling children and business. Allison is always interested in hearing feedback and ideas from customers, so please contact us with your thoughts.
A portion of our proceeds go to the following non-profit organizations:
We would like to extend a big thank you to the following vendors:
- Allison Bitter Photography for our photos of the kids.
- Cyndy Porter Creative Photography for our product shots.
- Karol DiPietro did the face paint and makeup application.
- Christine Traulich of RedBliss did our logo graphics.
- PixelMEDIA for our website design and development.
